How to reset explore page on Instagram
Method 1- Using the ‘Not Interested’ option
This is one of the easiest and most useful options if you would like to avoid certain Instagram posts.
With the increasing number of users trying to make a living out of Instagram as models or influencers, it can be hard to sort through all kinds of posts. If you find a post that you would not like to see, here is remove it:
- Step 1: Find the post that you would like to avoid.
- Step 2: Look for the three-dot horizontal icon at the top right of the post.
For Reels and other videos, you might have to click on them to find the option.
Step 3: Click on ‘Not Interested‘.
This will remove the post from your feed and provide you with a bunch of further options as well that we would discuss in the next bit.
Method 2- Prohibiting posts with certain words
If you were searching certain hashtags and came across the post then maybe simply not recommending the post would not do it. You might have to mention the specific words that, if in the post, then it would not be shown to you.
Right after clicking on ‘Not Interested’, you would get two options: ‘Don’t suggest posts with specific words’ and ‘This post made me feel uncomfortable’. Click on the first option and add any kind of text, emoji, or phrases that you would like to avoid in the post next time and there you go!
Method 3- Resetting the Explore page
Every time you look at a new post, or like it, the explore page changes little by little. A good example is how I started with beautiful landscapes around the world and ended with cat memes.
Now they are great, don’t get me wrong, but what if I wanted to explore things other than memes? Resetting the Explore page helps you in achieving exactly that.
- Step 1: Open the Instagram app.
You can also use www.instagram.com instead.
- Step 2: Click on the profile picture on the bottom right side of the screen.
- Step 3: Click on the Three horizontal line menu button on the top right.
- Step 4: Select ‘Your Activity‘ from the list of options.
- Step 5: Tap on ‘Recent Searches‘.
- Step 6: Tap on ‘Clear All‘.
This way you can clear the searches you made and prevent Instagram from using them as an example to recommend similar posts.
