One Plus 7 & One Plus 7 Pro Update, Android Q Developer Preview 3 arrived, download links available

The One Plus company released One Plus 7 and One Plus 7 Pro in May 2019, and it’s company flagship phones for the year 2019. The parent company of One Plus is BBK Electronics, which is also a parent company of Oppo and Vivo.

In terms of specifications, the One Plus 7 series is an absolute beast as it features Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor. The phone has a pretty impressive size of 6.67 inches, which is pretty good for watching movies & streaming videos.

The phone comes with Android 9.0 (Pie) coupled with OxygenOS out of the box. But many users are wondering when they will get a stable Android Q on their device.

One Plus 7 Pro Update

Well, there is some good news for One Plus owners as OnePlus 7 Series is getting Android Q Developer Preview 3. Speaking of developer previews, they are well suited to developers. Also, users who have a considerable amount of knowledge of flashing ROMs.

Manu Jain, Global Product Operations Manager for One Plus, has shared this news on the official forum. As this is a developer preview, there are some known bugs and issues.

The known issues in Android Q Developer Preview 3 for the One Plus 7 series are mentioned below.

  • Application compatibility problems
  • You may face stability issues.
  • User data will be cleared for DP1 & DP2 upgrading.

Users should have a battery level above 30% and free 3GB of storage before performing this update.

One Plus users who are wishing to upgrade their phone to Android Q Developer Preview 3 can follow the guide below.

1. Download the latest ROM upgrade zip package from the specified server.
2. Copy the ROM upgrade package to the phone storage.
3. Go to Settings -> System -> System Updates -> Click top-right icon -> Local upgrade -> Click on the corresponding installation package -> upgrade -> System upgrade completed to 100%.
4. After the upgrade is complete, click Restart.
5. The phone will boot into recovery mode to format user data; it will reboot again after formatting.
6. Update successful.

Also, if you wish to rollback from Developer Preview to Stable version, you can follow the guide below.

1. Download the latest ROM upgrade zip package from the specified server.
2. Copy the Rollback package to the phone storage.
3. Go to Settings -> System -> System Updates -> Click top-right icon -> Local upgrade -> Click on the corresponding installation package -> upgrade -> System upgrade completed to 100%.
4. After the upgrade is complete, click Restart.
5. The phone will boot into recovery mode to format user data; it will reboot again after formatting.
6. Update successful.
