How to Unroot Realme X & Restore Stock ROM: Step-By-Step

Android is one of the mobile operating systems which allows the users to root the device. There are a number of ways, where rooting is advantageous. Users root their device to install desired Custom ROM on the smartphone, to uninstall unwanted bloatware, to block Ads in any app, etc. Rooting the device brings a lot of features, but it also brings some disadvantages too. Realme X Features –

Talking about the features of Realme X. The device was launched in Q3 of 2019 and was the flagship in Realme device range. The device comes with a notch-less design which features 6.53-inch of AMOLED display which is high-resolution display (1080×2340).

The device runs on Android 9 out-of-the-box and it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 coupled with a RAM up to 8GB of capacity. Realme X comes with an internal storage of 128GB, which is not expandable. And it is powered by a Li-ion battery of 3765mAh capacity.

Realme X comes with a notch-less display, and the front camera is a pop-up module which carries a 16MP camera sensor. And at the back, it has a normal dual-camera setup which features a 48MP primary sensor and a 5MP wide-angle sensor.

  • Rooting of the Android device voids the phone warranty. You won’t be able to take warranty services from the OEM.

How to Unroot Realme X –


To unroot Realme X, you just need to follow the steps below. We have mentioned three methods here. You have to choose the method according to the requirements. We have mentioned all the details below. You can check out the details and proceed with the same method.

Before you proceed to the methods to unroot the device, you should check the device battery status. The device’s battery should be more than 30% to start the unrooting. This is a precaution, and if the battery runs out in between, you will find it hard to restart the device again.

The procedure to unroot the device is quite risky, so make sure before you start if you really want to do it.

 

The first method to unroot Realme X is by the SuperSU Method. If you are familiar with the rooting process, you might have heard this name before. SuperSU process is used in the rooting process. We will be using the SuperSU mobile application for this method. So, make sure to download the app. 

The app is not available on Playstore. You have to download the app from the external source. Download and install the app, and start with Step 1 of the tutorial.

First of all, you need to open the SuperSU app on your device. 


 

STEP 2 –

Go to the SuperSU app and open the app settings.


 

STEP 3 –

In the app settings, you need to search for the “Full Unroot” option. Tap on the option.


 

STEP 4 –

This will automatically initiate the unrooting process on the device.


 

STEP 5 –

The procedure may take some time, you have to wait until the process completes. Do not turn off the device, or interrupt the procedure.

The device will restart automatically after the process. And here you go, the unrooting process is done on your device.

 

  • 2nd Method to Unroot  Realme X – KingRoot (Mobile)

Now, we will discuss the second method to unroot Realme X. In this method, we will use the KingRoot application on mobile. Before you start, you have to make sure that your device is charged enough and it is connected to a stable internet connection.

 

STEP 0 –

We will be using the KingRoot mobile application for this method. So, make sure to download the app. 

FYI, the app is not available on Playstore. You have to download the app from the official website. Download and install the app, and start with Step 1 of the tutorial.


 

STEP 1 –

After installing the app on your Realme X device. Open the app on your device and go to the app settings.


 

STEP 2 –

In the app settings, you have to search for the Unroot Your Phone option.


 

STEP 3 –

This will automatically initiate the unrooting process on the device.


 

STEP 4 –

The procedure may take some time, you have to wait until the process completes. Do not turn off the device, or interrupt the procedure by any means.


 

STEP 5 –

The device may not reboot automatically after the process. Make sure to reboot the device after the completion of the procedure.

  • 3rd Method to Unroot Realme X – ES File Explorer (Mobile)

Next method which can be used to unroot  Realme X device is by using the ES File Explorer. ES File Explorer is an app, which can be downloaded for free from the Google Play Store. We will be using this app to unroot the device. Before you start to unroot  Realme X, make sure that your device has enough battery, as the procedure may take some time.

 

STEP 0 –

Before starting the procedure to unroot  Realme X, you need to download the ES File Explorer on your device. You can download the app from Play Store. The app is free to download.

STEP 1 –

After installing the ES File Explorer app on your device. Open the app on your device and go to the app menu. The Menu icon can be seen in the top-left section.


 

STEP 2 –

After opening the app menu, search for the Root Explorer option and select it to turn it on.

After this, go back to the home page of the app again and go back to destination “/”.


 

STEP 4 – 

Now, close the app, go to the device storage and open the System folder. And search for the SU file in the BIN folder.


 

STEP 5 – 

Go back and open the System folder again and delete the SU file from the XBIN folder too.


 

STEP 6 – 

Again, go back to the System folder, then open the App folder. In the App folder search for the SUPERUSER.APK file and delete it too.

  • 4rth Method to Unroot Realme X – KingRoot PC

The third method to unroot the device is very similar to the second method. Here, we are using the same KingRoot application. But instead of using the app on the smartphone, we will be using KingRoot on PC. Before you start with the methods, make sure that your device is charged. 

After this, you can finally continue with the steps for “how to unroot  Realme X”.

 

STEP 1 –

First of all, you have to download the KingRoot software on your PC. You can download it by visiting the official website of KingRoot.


 

STEP 2 –

After downloading and installing the KingRoot application on your PC, open it.


 

STEP 3 –

Before proceeding to the next step, make sure that your  Realme X is connected with your PC. Use the data cable to establish the connection and also, make sure that the smartphone’s USB settings allow the transfer of data.


 

STEP 4 –

Come back to your PC, and search for the Unroot option. You just need to hit the Unroot option.

  • 5th Method to Unroot Realme X – Installing Updates

The last and fifth method to unroot the device is to download the latest OTA update. OTA or Over-the-air updates are the regular updates that the OEM rolls out for every device. Well, Realme X gets regular security patch update, so it will be easy for you to install update on the device and unroot the device.

STEP 1 –

First of all, go to the device Settings

In Settings, search and select System. And then tap on Advanced Settings
